Ricochet-2 years difference

Ricochet is my 7y/o 17h tb gelding. We will be showing in the Childrens hunter this summer and in A eq. I came across a picture from out first ride together (will have owned him for 2 years on May 28th) and wanted to share the difference.

We’ve been working VERY hard on putting weight and muscle on him, and I am happy with his results so far!

Medal Round

This is my 17h tb gelding Ricochet, he is 7 years old. This was us last summer at a trillium show in the modified medal. We actually pinned first in this, then stayed first in our flat phase. We will be showing Childrens hunter next summer. Please excuse the wiggling through the outside line, we’ve been working on it!

lead changes?

I’ve got a horse that gets rather… excited when we do lead changes. He knows how to do them, and always does them full, but likes to rush into them and play after. In this situation, is it better to try to bring him back to a trot instead of doing changes (besides at shows) or practice them at home to see if he stops thinking he needs to rush?

Ricochet

This is my 2006 17h tb gelding, Ricochet. Both pictures were taken awhile ago, but does anyone have any comments on him? Don’t mind my eq in the flatting picture, friend was on him before and i just cooled him out, so stirrups were a couple holes short. Critique my eq in the o/f picture if you’d like. I’ve owned him for just over a year and a half now, he’s coming :)

We will be doing the children’s hunter next summer!

Ricochet, hunter o/f

2006 tb gelding, sticked him the other day at 17.1, never raced. This was his first show back after a couple weeks off due to him pulling something in his hip area. He was clearly not impressed with 2’6!

1 year differance, Ricochet

so, this is my 2006 tb gelding Ricochet.I bought him over a year ago as a fairly green hunter prospect. I might try some jumper/eq stuff with him next summer though. The first picture is him a week after i bought him, and the 2nd was taken about a month ago. as you can tell im still working on his topline and backend. but i’d like to know if im heading in the right direction, and get a confo critique on the 2nd picture :)

ricochet

this is my 17h 7yo tb gelding named ricochet at a schooling show this weekend (dont mind the outfit and lack of braids, was just there to school him around) we ended up getting reserve champ in the 2’6 division with a 1st and 3rd o/f, then a 2nd u/s. please only comment on him.

ricochet

this is my 17h 7y/o tb gelding at his 2nd trillium show. he was great! got a 2nd u/s and a 3rd o/f out of about 20 really nice horses. just wanted to share some pictures.

ricochet, hunter o/f

this is my 17h tb gelding ricochet and I at a schooling show sunday. I brought him there to get him in the ring before our trillium show in a couple weeks. He’s turning 7 tomorrow! this was his first time showing outdoors, and first time in this ring. we ended up with a 7th, 3rd, and 1st o/f then 2nd under saddle out of around 20 horses.
this was our warm up trip:

and heres some pictures!

fences are only 2’6, we normally show 2’9 but i didnt want to wait around all day!

ricochet

adding this again! this is my 6y/o 17h tb gelding, he’s finally learning what to do with himself over fences! we’re showing 2’9 hunter & eq this weekend, so any tips are appreciated!
