Schooling 4′ on my Paint, Tiny

Here’s a picture of me schooling my jumper/eventer gelding Tiny. He is a coming 11yr, 16.3 hand paint, I’ve had him since I was 14 and he was 4, so we’ve come a long way. Our next show will be in the 3’9 division at a Pony Club SJ Rally. In November I am planning on testing for my “A” certification, and Tiny will be the one I take it on.

Schooling my TB gelding

So this is Simon, my 9yr OTTB gelding. He is an ex-steeplechaser that eventually ended up in the slaughter pipeline. Fortunately (for me!) I found him and over the past 2 years, he’s gone from a stressball that used to see a cross rail 30 feet away and either rear and spin away from it and have a nervous breakdown, or lock onto it and drag me over it at Mach 4; to a really lovely, adjustable jumper.

Things have really been coming together recently. Flatwork is finally “clicking” with him and it’s showing in his jumping style and entire demeanor under saddle. I would like to submit this picture from a few days ago of us schooling a 4’3-4’6 (?) oxer. Not sure exactly how high it was. But it was kinda big. haha

Schooling and Showing my Paint Jumper

I have attached a few pictures of me showing and schooling my 10yr paint gelding, Tiny. I pretty much grew up with this horse, I got him when he was 3 1/2 and I was 13. We’ve had a lot of ups and a few downs, but I wouldn’t trade any of the time I spent with this horse for anything! We mainly compete in 3’6 jumper classes, aiming to move up to 3’9-4′ classes soon. We also event a little bit on the side, currently at Training Level.
Please critique horse and rider, thanks!
