Video For Rob
Rob asked for a video a while ago, and I posted one. However, it was never judged! This is my horse, Sterling, and I in the older childrens division. please judge my equitation as well as my horse. I tend to lose control of my feet over the jumps, and my toes roll out, and i drop my hands on the turns. Its getting better! Sterling is one of the most uncomfortable horses I’ve ever ridden, so i try my best to make do with the horse i have. Eventually, i would really like to move up to the 3’6 medals. But a miracle will have to occur for that to happen!
sorry the video is blurry at times, theres something wrong with my camera(or the opperator)!
Thanks!
Video for Rob – Childrens hunter
Here you go, Rob! This was our first round of the childrens hunter.
I cut off the corner going to the two stride, Sterling is a little gate sour, and likes to kick out right there.. so i do anything to make him forget…
As a side note, I really want to do the Maclay-thats my goal. However, I don’t have the horse and, quite honestly, the money to do so.
So please judge my equitation, even though this was a hunter round. Thanks!
Southern Living
Please jude my equitation, as well as my horse Sterling. This was only our second time competing in the childrens hunter division at a rated show. We also qualified for the horse medal finals, which were held in the jumper arena. So, we decided to do a jumper class to prepare for the medal… Let’s just say, we better stick to the hunter ring.. The “bowl” as we call it, was very scary for Sterling, as you cant see any other horses..i really want to hear what a judge has to say about first photo.. the other two i just posted for fun, but you can judge those too!
.95m jumpers!
i posted this video before, along with a hunter round, but this one never got judged. Anyways please judge my pony and I. Tucker is a 14.1 quarter pony. As you guys can tell, he isn’t built very well, so it surprises me how well he jumps! We won this class, and the pony hunter classic the same day! He has been my little project, and i’m having a blast! I normally do hunters and equitation, not jumpers! So, this was a first for me and Tucker! What makes this even more special is that i trained him and I’ve only had one lesson with him! I realize I need to be slower with my body, I’m working on that… Its hard when I’m 5’7 and Tucker is so little!
please judge horse and rider
thanks!
Buckle Up!
Last weekend, I took my pony to his first rated show. This was only our second time doing jumpers, but we won 3 of our jumper classes! After a shaky start, i fell of our first round, we didn’t have enough pace and poor little Tucker just didn’t want to jump from such a close distance, so I jumped it without him… video coming soon! There are two one striders in this course, being a pony, these are challenging. the first one we did in one, but the second one i tried to fit two in, which was the plan, lets just say He saved my butt a couple of times! I’m still new to the whole jumper world… sometimes i forget i can cut off my corners and turn… haha, you can my trainer saying ‘Turn!” This course is .95 meters .. i think.. we did the 1 meter too, but he got tired, and we placed third. Also, someone asked us to fill the Childrens hunter pony divison.. we ended up reserve champion and won the classic! Some of our distances were a little off.. i didn’t make a decision on what i wanted him to do..i wasn’t expecting to place… we were just there to fill it! But, This makes me so proud because he has been my project. I’ve owned Tucker for two years now, and he has been very difficult to work with.. People thought he would never be good for anything, and that he was a waste of time, but i kept trying. Before this show, i’ve had only one real lesson on him. He has come such a long way since i got him as a terrified four year old.
Sorry for the long paragraph…I’ve uploaded both the classic round and the .95 jumpers. I would love to get some feedback on Tucker and i! please keep in mind that he is only 14.1h and im 5’7
Thanks in andvance!
New to the Jumper Ring?
I have a couple of questions about jumpers.. I show in hunters and eq, but this weekend I am doing a few jumper classes. Why does mostly everyone pin their number to their saddle pad? Is it just a fad, or is there an actual reason? Also, should I? and how do you do it? This is just a “c” rated show, and i plan to wear a polo. However, there is a classic that i hope to do.. I know at “A” shows, the jumer riders will sometime wear their coats for the classic…but for just a “C” rated show? …
thanksfor your help!
Southern Living~First Rated Show!
This is Sterling and I at our first rated show back in May. Please judge my equitation, Sterling didnt put much effort over this little jump… I really like eq and medal classes and hope to do more in the future! At our most recent show i did the 15-17 eq on him, and he was great! Sterling is not much of an eq horse though, he launches over the jumps, and his canter, as well as his trot, are nearly impossible to sit.. but i try to make it work! We have improved so much from a month ago, it just makes me so happy that we are actually showing. I’m still waiting on the pictures from the last show since they’re from an actual photographer… I’ll make sure i post them! Anyways, thanks in advance!
Southern Living – Limit Hunter 2’9
Please judge Sterling and I at the Germantown Charity Horse Show. This was our warm up round yesterday, i know he changed leads before the first of the diagonal line.. Sterling is an 11 yr old OTTB, but he is very green, and is some what of an air head.. Please ignore my mother in the background… you might want to turn your sound off, unless you want to hear a lot of clucking and commentary..
We ended up champion in Limit Hunter
thanks in advance!
