So I have been working more on getting my horse Jade into a frame. She usually has no problem at the walk or trot, but at the canter she hasn’t really had much work framing at the canter and works really hard to get out of it by slowing down, and moving her head up and down. I never had any problems at the walk or trot until I started working on the canter, and at least yesterday when I rode, she kept getting behind the vertical at the walk, which has never happened before. She was also just being kind of a pain about framing at the trot because I hadn’t ridden her in a few days, but my trainer recommended a standing martingale for her, and possibly to start working her in draw reins occasionally.
I’m including a video of working all three gaits, you can see her avoiding my contact, I think I needed to shorten up my reins a little at the trot especially, but please judge us both. I would like to know if I am doing anything wrong in terms of my hands especially trying to get her to frame
Thank you!!
I posted a photo a few days ago from a show at the beginning of April, which Rob critiqued. This is actually from our equitation round, but it was a little weird because it was basically a hunter course. Please judge horse and rider!
ALL critiques are welcome!
Jade and I at a show two weeks ago, I know my leg has slipped back and I am too close to her neck, but any other comments are appreciated!
It’s been raining for about a week here so I haven’t been able to ride much after the show but as soon as its dry I’m taking my stirrups away for a month… I’ve lost a lot of my leg strength since I went to college and haven’t been able to ride like I used to! I’m kind of excited to see the results, I hope it will be all good
I’m working with a 4 year old filly, and in the past few months, she’s become less responsive to my leg. She is very lazy, and requires a lot of leg, and has never been super hot to my leg to begin with. I’m wondering if anyone has any tips on working with her to make her more responsive to my leg. I’ve tried carrying a crop and it works in making her move forward but it hasn’t helped with her responsiveness to my leg. I know I can also try spurs, but I don’t want to just resort to spurs, especially since she is so young I’m hoping I can correct it. Thanks
Me and Jade jumping for the first time in about 3 weeks since the snow! It’s pretty rough, I feel like I completely lost my leg, and my eye is off, but please judge what you can see! Thank you

4 year old TWH x TB filly that I have been training. This was the first time I was able to ride her in about 3 weeks because of the horrible snow we’ve had! She is not mine, but I have done all of her training and I have permission to post this.
Please just judge her, I also haven’t been able to ride much and I was really just focusing on her. Thank you
This is my trainer schooling my horse a few weeks ago, we have been working on flexion, bending, and staying on the bit, so that was what she was focusing on. Please just judge the horse, as it is not me riding!
These are my thoughts… I’ve developed a really bad habit of sitting up too early, you can clearly see it on jump 4, so any tips on that would be great!
We were long to 5, and we cut our corner in the bottom (we have been working especially hard on bending, and it’s getting better!)
All critiques are appreciated
