Please Judge :)

Hi, this is another picture of my green mare and I. I am SO excited that we have a new dressage judge :)

This horse was started last April by me and is a coming 8 year old. Please let me know what you think. We are doing amoeba (her first combined) in 2 weeks! Sorry about the quality. I know I let my wrists go limp at times because I like to keep my hands very soft. First pic shows a lengthened trot and second pic we are trying for collection. Thank You so much.  942457_4617820413772_1919491845_n 944454_4617820853783_2033304804_n

Please Judge- schooling 2’6″

This is my green horse who has been jumping for just over 2 months, over her first 2’6″ fence. The fence is made of hay because our jumps were outside in the rain. Please let me know what you think of us and her potential. Also how high do you think she could go and what is your opinion on her form? I started working with her last April. She is a coming 8 year old. We plan on eventing. Thank you so much! Sorry about the quality.2'6"

Skye’s first test :)

This is my green mare Skye who has been under saddle with me less than a year and she just did her first ever dressage test (Intro B). We scored an 83. I was very proud of her! This was a very informal schooling show. Please judge! I wish I had more than one picture but the rest were too blury, as the lighting was terrible for pictures.

Please Judge :)

Please judge me and my horse. She is still very green and has barely been cantered. She has come a long way in 7 months- when I got her she could not even make a lap around the ring without rearing or backing up really fast. I trained her myself and I’m really proud of her :) Let me know what you guys think :)

Judge us :)

My mare and I schooling at home. This is 9 months of training (last 5 by me). I realize my leg slipped forward a bit, but that was my second time riding in the close contact saddle; I usually use a dressage saddle.

Question: Teaching a Greenie the Difference Between Impulsion & Speed?

My 7 year old green horse (about 9 total months of training under saddle) and I have chosen to do dressage as our main discipline of choice. She’s doing fantastic and really seems to enjoy it but I think she gets confused and I’m not sure what I can do. I’ve recently been working on getting her collected and on the bit. I know I need to work from back to front, but when I add the impulsion at the trot, she just pops into the canter rather than giving me a bigger trot. When she does this the canter is really crappy, and very unlike the huge, round canter she gives me when I actually ask for one using the proper aids. It’s really frustrating because she’s just confused I think. I’ve tried just keeping the contact a bit tighter but that makes her curl behind and evade the contact (unfortunately an old habit from when she was trained a a youngster using draw reins..ick). I proceed to push her forward, and she trots nicely for a few steps then pops into that awful canter which is very different from what she does when we canter on purpose. I am a pretty verbal rider with her, and I’ll make a buzzer noise when she does something wrong, and say a very enthusiastic praise when she’s correct. Can anyone help us?

2 Months After Starting Horse in Dressage~ Please Judge :)

This is my new horse who was a pasture ornament just 2 months ago. She is 7 years old and just getting going as my new dressage training project. She is also my first attempt at training a horse myself. These were taken schooling in the arena this week. I appologize for the quality, these are video stills. All comments are welcome, thank you in advance!! :)

I know she is a tad over-bent here. She is still in that “I’m not sure about this new job, let me avoid contact” stage. lol
