This is my KWPN gelding, Ian. His show name is Risico.
His name has the most topsy turvey story behind it. He is named after Ian Fleming, the author of the James Bond novels, as I felt an outright Bond name was overdone and his grandsire is already named OOSeven. There is a short story in the series called “Risico,” the first person singular form of the Italian verb “risicare,” which means “risk.” Coincidentally, the Dutch use the same word. As he is a black, minimally marked Dutch Warmblood, it seemed fitting. So in short, it is a James Bond reference combined with some fun etymology.

This is my 4.5 year old KWPN, Ian. Pulled him out of a field in September and brought him along from w/t to this in that time span. Pretty representative of his usual technique.. we are hoping to play at HITS this winter since it is in our back yard, but which discipline does he look like he would do better in? He is bold and loves to jump but I don’t know if he could pass muster as a hunter…
This is my (late) 4 y/o KWPN’s first time a little over 3′. Does he look excessively flat? His jump feels a bit unusual, not sure if it would inhibit him. Still not sure if he is going to be a jumper or a hunter. Thoughts?
This is my coming five year old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Ian. I have brought him along from walk-trot and am very pleased with his progress. He just started jumping the middle of October and has been a total superstar. Are there any tips for getting him to bascule a little more, and how limiting will his style be in the hunters? No critique on my equitation please, I know it is pretty awful, hahaha.
Thanks!
Getting ready to show Bun-Bun over 2’6 for the first time tomorrow.. my baby mare is growing up! Please judge horse and rider- I think this fence was like 2’9. We do the hunters, but still any tips for eq would be very appreciated.
This is my six year old Quarter Horse’s first time jumping this height. Please critique both of us! My equitation is a little…unique.
This is a longer one from the other day. We came in to the pink and blue fence on the wrong lead because I had a grid of canter poles set up a few strides out and she swapped leads over one ![]()
And a still at about 3’3. ***Not from the jump in the video*** Her jump is very hard to stay with- any tips for staying off her neck???

These are some pictures of my little horse-child. I bought her as a late three year old and put almost all of her training on her myself after her initial breaking and w/t/c work. So incredibly proud of her, and so lucky to have owned her for two years.
