Hi! This is my new lease horse, Quattro, and I. This was my first show in months since my mare, Kia, has been hurt and had to undergo colic surgery. We were competing in the low jumpers at ETI, and we’re going to Goldcoast next week so I wanted to get some quick tips. Quattro is a 16.1h Throughbred x Dutch Warmblood, 7 yr old, Gelding. Thanks you for judging!
Hi everyone! Recently I started leasing a beautiful mare named Sydney. The owner told me I could change her barn name and show name(she doesn’t have a show name to begin with). She isn’t registered yet, but we need to do that to show her. But first I need a name. She is going to be showing in the 1m jumpers and hopefully 1.10m, but is able to do the 1.40m. She flies over every single jump, but she’s a total sweetheart when I’m not riding too. Does any one have any name suggestions? Barn and show? I was thinking ‘Skye’, and her show name could be ‘Skye’s The Limit’ but not sure about that. I would love if the barn name was in the show name too. She’s an irish sport horse and five years old. Here’s two pictures of her
Hi, recently I have been thinking about buying a protective vest just incase something bad was to happen. Now I show in the jumpers, and vests are usually seen on eventers and not really jumpers, but I was wondering what other people and judges think when a rider is wearing one? If I do get one, what is the best kind? I was looking at the Tipperary Eventer Vest because I’ve seen other people wearing that in jumpers. Thank you!

Hi Judge My Ride! My name is Amy Young and this is my horse Saskia. I’m 13 years old, but my show age is 12. I train at Seahorse Riding Club with Devon Gibson, Teresa Bartko, and Christy Arbuckle. They have all taught me how to become a jumper after being a hunter/eq rider for 3 years, but they are now helping me become a great eq rider so I can do well at finals. I currently show in the 1.00m jumpers, the Low Child A/A jumpers, and the 3ft medals. I am currently ranked 8th out of 187 people in Zone 10 in the Low Child A/A Jumpers, and I am also qualified to go to Onondarka Finals at La National Horseshow this year. I think I deserve to be the Judge My Ride Poster Child because I have been using Judge My Ride since you only had your Facebook page. I always loved to play trivia and post pictures of the horse I used to ride. I am a very frequent poster on JMR because I love the judges advice. Last year, I went to the Rob Gage clinic in Rolling Hills Estates and it was so great! If I was chosen to be the JMR Poster Child it would just be amazing because I’ve never done something like that before. I hope you like my story and pick me to be the Poster Child! Thank you!
Hi, I was wondering about tall boots… first I wanted to know if the way a boot fits is judged in an equitation/medal class? Like if it scrunches up or is a bit loose. Also, what are your favorite types of boots to see in a show ring (like the brand and name ex. Ariat Monacos) Currently I have the Ariat Challenge, but they fit pretty poorly even though I got them custom. My mom said to ask my trainer how they fit and if she says badly she will get me a new pair of boots. So, that’s why I was wondering. I don’t really care about the price, just as long as they’re really good quality.
