This is DeLovely, my 2 year old future dressage prospect. I am taking her to an in-hand class at the Hanoverian inspection next month so I thought it would be a good idea to get a critique on her conformation. Thanks!

I remember seeing her before! This lovely filly has nice short cannons and good bone. Her withers are well defined and well laid back. Her shoulder is very nice. She may be a bit base wide. I can’t see well, but “think” I see an interference mark on the inside of her right front fetlock. Her neck ties onto the shoulder beautifully and she has a lovely crest. Her top line is smooth. In this photo, her hind end is somewhat less developed than the front end. This is not unusual growth pattern for warm bloods!
Little DeCaprio is getting big and filling in nicely. She was already tall last time. How big is she now?
Thanks! It’s nice to have somewhat of an idea for what I should expect to hear from the judges next month. What do you mean by an interference mark? (haven’t heard of that before)
Thanks Val! I’m not sure, need to measure her again. These past couple months she’s grown A LOT and started to fill out. It’s so fun to watch!
I looked at it and I think she is referring to the black mark you see on it. It is kind of straight across so it looks like it could be that she is moving her left hoof repeatedly very close to her right one when she walks. Kind of like it is brushing to the side and therefore “interfering”.
It is one picture and if she is really wide based, I don’t see how that could happen. Could be just random dirt.
Oh lol, it’s definitely dirt. Its been raining here for several days and I just got her out of the pasture and brushed her up a bit before this picture. Couldn’t get the whites clean with just a brush though and it seemed pointless to give her a bath just to turn her back out in the mud.
I opened the picture in photo shop and enlarged it as far as I could. I think you are right, it is just mud. Just be careful to watch to see if she is hitting herself. Sometimes horses who are base wide and toe out a bit can come inside at one point of the stride and hit the opposite fetlock with the hoof. I simply cannot see well enough. I also think she may have a small capped hock on the left, but just can’t see well enough to confirm. GOOD LUCK and let us know how you do!
Thank you! Will make sure to pay close attention from now on. Might try to get some better pictures of her legs once I get a chance to clean her up so you can get a better look.
I’ve had so much fun watching her grow up.
well built!
She is a lovely filly!
