Dexter’s conformation

Please judge Dexter’s conformation. He is a 5 year old Oldenburg. I’ve owned him since May, but have only had about a month of saddle time. He’s been off with a fractured splint, then stone bruise, and most recently a fractured elbow. If he looks under muscled that’s why. I just got the all clear from the vet yesterday to start legging him back up again, so hopefully he’s done hurting himself for awhile!!

  1. Poor guy, how on earth did he fracture his elbow? He has nice short cannons and is slightly tied in below the knee. He stands somewhat back at the knee as well. Hard to tell from this photo, but I believe his right heel is somewhat higher than the left. His withers are well defined and well laid back. His shoulder is average. His neck ties onto the shoulder well and he has a nice crest. His top line is smooth with the croup dropping off somewhat steeply. His hind leg is straight

Your guess is as good as mine! He goes out in a small pasture with my 20 yeard old Arab gelding. The ground is flat, no trees or anything for him to get into. He’s just at that age where they are wild and rambunctious I guess. Thank you for the indepth critque!
