This is Dior a 6 year old Oldenburg mare. I am trying her out, she was not worked a lot by her owner so she does not have a lot of muscle but that is my goal to get in shape for jumpers. Just by judging her conformation how high do you think she will jump?
Thanks
Dior!

This angle is really not good for a conformation evaluation. You need to take the photo even with the horse’s shoulder (though I do barrel, but Carol prefers shoulder), where you are perpendicular to the line of the horse. This slightly angled photo makes her back end look very ummm interesting, like a Walker being parked out.
Most all horses can jump 3′ safely, and Oldenburgs are usually quite athletic so I would say she should be able to do at least 3′. A video of her jumping would get you a bit closer estimate.
okay thanks i did not take it but i will look for another one!
This is a really unflattering pose, but I think it is safe to say she can easily jump 3’6″
