Dior!

This is Dior a 6 year old Oldenburg mare.  I am trying her out, she was not worked a lot by her owner so she does not have a lot of muscle but that is my goal to get in shape for jumpers. Just by judging her conformation how high do you think she will jump? :D Thanks

  1. This angle is really not good for a conformation evaluation. You need to take the photo even with the horse’s shoulder (though I do barrel, but Carol prefers shoulder), where you are perpendicular to the line of the horse. This slightly angled photo makes her back end look very ummm interesting, like a Walker being parked out.

Most all horses can jump 3′ safely, and Oldenburgs are usually quite athletic so I would say she should be able to do at least 3′. A video of her jumping would get you a bit closer estimate.

okay thanks i did not take it but i will look for another one! :D

  3. This is a really unflattering pose, but I think it is safe to say she can easily jump 3’6″
