Here are a couple of photos of my horse and myself competing for the second time ever in Intermediare-1 this weekend! We took home the blue ribbon both days. Any and all critiques are welcome!

I don’t know enough about dressage to critique, but you and your horse look amazing! What a beautiful animal
First of all congratulations on competing in the I-1! That is such an accomplishment, especially at such a young age
You and your horse are a beautiful pair. He looks like he has a great connection, and is nicely engaged from behind. You are a pretty rider, the only thing I really see is don’t get ahead of the movement in the pirouette. Your sitting every so slightly forward, try to really sit deep and follow every step slowly. This is especially important when going out, as if you aren’t with him you can have a wonky step coming out that will ruin the score. Overall beautiful and elegant pair, I can see why y’all did so well!
Absolutely Stunning! Congrats On Your Win!! You Deserve It!!!
Jealous. So jealous…
GORGEOUS……amazing photos too…WOW!! Love the pirouette photo–really nicely engaged. wow!
thank you very much, everyone.
heather, thank you as well – i’m now working on sitting with roux more in the pirouettes and he seems to be getting steadier. just like you said, we tend to have weird moments coming out of them sometimes…now i know why! i was thinking it was a problem with his outside shoulder sagging and escaping in the last stride or so, but sitting with him keeps it in place and everything works better in the end. our next time out in the ring will be at regionals, so hopefully we’ll have some good photos or a video after that!
You guys look great
cool pictures!
