Judge Please! :)

Please judge my riding/position jumping and my horse too, he tends to jump long so we’ve been working on that, and for me I’m working on putting weight in my heels and having a better release over the jump. Tell me what you think and how I could improve, thanks! :)

Just for kicks and giggles

A couple of our blooper moments at the clinic. Ruby actually cantered through the water the first time, and got stuck the second time. After this we decided she needed to do something in the water, like a jump or a bank, and not just canter through. She was great the rest of the weekend. DSC_0065

There is actually a small jump on the other side of the mound before you get to the brush making it a bounce, and is not very light on her feet, and was pretty confused as to how to make this work. I think she tried to add a stride in here, and ended up just smashing through a bit. Luckily the actual jump was tiny, and she landed on her feet, not her face. And we did successfully complete the bounce to this jump the next time around.

Here are a couple more pictures from the camp this past weekend. Please judge both me and my mare. DSC_0728 DSC_0383

Chase Creek XC Camp

Ruby and I went up to Chase in Canada, and did a clinic there with Nick Homles-Smith. It was really fun, challenging, and we learned a ton. Here we are  a bounce exercise of 6 logs. Please judge me and my mare.  DSC_0108

Please critique me and my 14 hand Arabian Cowboy (he just turned 17 this week!). The jumps are 2ft3 and 2ft9. We have our first event on June 1st, we are going beginner novice. (:

Oprah at Glen Oro

Hi, this is a picture from Oprah and I at the Glen Oro CT earlier in the season. We are also showing pre-training (3ft), please judge!

Novice at Hunter Oaks

This is a video of my boy and I competing Novice at Hunter Oaks horse trials last summer. I know it’s not super current, but I would still love feedback on it!

Disclaimer: The break in the left lead canter was totally my fault, I heard the judge from the ring next to mine ring her bell and thought it was my judge signaling I had done something wrong.. I had just learned the test that morning after finding out I memorized the wrong test, so I was quite focused on making sure we did the right pattern. And, due to not ever practicing it, I realize our geometry isn’t quite up to par.

But anyway, Karen, I would greatly appreciated it if you would please judge both of us! (:

Cedar Run HT

Hello, this is a photo that I bought from the event this past weekend. This is my mare, Oprah, and I. She is a 15.1hh, 12 year old, Thoroughbred Cross. This summer we are showing pre-training (3ft) and hope to upgrade to training (1m) by the end. This jump was the first coming into a turning question. Please judge both horse and rider!

3’6” Oxer

I know this is a bit of  an older clip (it’s from last summer), but I don’t remember ever posting, so here it is!

This is my boy and I jumping a 3’6” oxer in our schooling sj course. I realize I was a bit defensive and pushed for it, not sure why.. I think he might have refused the time before.. And I know my heels came up and my chest was awfully low.. But anyways, please judge both of us! (:
