This is Trooper (Mr. Good & Plenty) and I in a Children’s Hunter Ponies class. Trooper’s 12.1hh and I’m 5’5, making the proportions a little bit awkward, which is probably what kept us from getting any firsts in any classes. But oh well! Normally this pony can be a bit of a stinker, so his owner asks me to pop him around a few courses at shows to keep him in his place. Today he was wonderful! The fences were bigger than he’s used to, standing at 2’6, so I’m extremely happy with how he put up with the huge change from little jumps with an 8 year old, to me. Comments/Critiques much appreciated!

This is my mare LadyLovesDiamonds (aka Mocha) in her 2nd show ever. This is us schooling before our classes began. She is very green to jumping but is doing great! She is my jumper prospect. I know we got a long spot on the last one…she is still figuring everything out as far as where to put her feet.

* Also please try and discard me looking stiff as I was and still am recovering from whiplash and a minor concussion( lacrosse related not horse related!) I had doctors permission to ride however I was just a bit stiff.*

First Jumper Show!

This weekend I took my horse, JJ out to a show! He’s a 7 year old thoroughbred, never raced. I’ve officially owned him for 6 months now, and I can say we’ve improved immensely! Before we bought him, he was being used in training level eventing and was a complete rusher with no conscience of where his feet were. He now comes back when asked and is jumping bigger heights beautifully! We didn’t get any top placings, but that’s the least thing I was concerned about at our first show (:

This was my first big class stepping up from the AO’s last weekend. My horse’s name is Rehbein, he’s a 14yo Oldenburg by Riverman. We’ve been doing the AO’s for a few years and I would really love to start doing the bigger classes regularly!
