Gotta love that
We eventers have to be even more solid with our positions… mine improved 200% as well when I switched to eventing.
Careful about staying back, that last photo is the one I’m talking about. It looks like you got a bit close but stepped off of your stirrups and too far over your horse’s neck. It’s more important with the tight spots to stay back and wait for your horse to jump up to you, even more important still with a tight spot to an XC fence. You don’t want anything getting in his way of getting his legs up… luckily this was not too high for him or he might have caught that left leg.
Oooooo I just enlarged it, that looks like a nice optical illusion… exactly the opposite of a new one at my local venue. That looks like it appears to have depth but it really doesn’t. If it looks like that from the front… it might also partly explain his lower left knee, he thought he had more time to get them both up.
I noticed that same shirt right off. I thought maybe you mis identified those first 2 photos..and they might have actually been from the same round. Besides, your real dramatic improvement shows up in the final two photos anyway. That’s where your riding appears to have become more sophisticated.
My FAVORITE is 2011- and it’s SUPER GOOD!
That shirt thing is funny! if you look back through all of my pictures, I wear the same shirts often
It’s so fun to look back at your improvements! You two look great!
eventing helped your position loads
