So this weekend Nala and I rode in our home Illinois Short Circuit show. We did a 3′ jumper division, a 3’3″-3’6″ jumper division, and just for fun we filled the small hunters at 2’6″. We took champion in both the hunter (her first hunter class EVER since she is a hot OTTB) and the higher jumper class. I would love feedback on my position especially since it looks like my shoulders and arms aren’t where they should be. Any critique on Nala is also welcome!
The third and first pictures are the ones I am most concerned about my position in.

In the jumper photos, she needs more release from you. Your release was pretty good in that lower hunter photo…..although that oxer looks pretty “square” for hunters! What was going on with Nala’s head in that flat photo? She doesn’t look happy. She is an excellent jumper. Looks really consistent with her front legs.
Very cute! sounds like you guys had a very successful show! I love how he jumps! congratulations:)
You could release a little more, but since you said she’s a little hot, too much would be a bad thing. The rest of your position look s pretty good though! She has an amazing front end over the jumps and uses her head and neck really well! She looks pretty unhappy in that trotting photo though, i think the flat work might need a little work. She’s very cute!
I have to ask, did you get her from a woman named Charlene?? I used to ride an OTTB namesd nala back when I lived in Connecticut. Just wondering if it’s the same horse!!
Maybe I’ll get to see you ride at the Palatine ISC or ISC Finals @ Palatine!
HillBillydeluxe, I bought her from a girl named Jamie; her name was Keeta back then!
Thank you everyone for the feedback, I will work on my release in the jumper ring and work on bringing her head down on the flat.
I would love to go to another ISC but I don’t know that I can afford one, Tay.
