guatemala

this is me and voltaire jumping one of our first jumps at the try out! i know my release could of been better, but okay it’s too late. I know my leg slipped back  too so don’t worry but please judge horse and rider :)

and sorry about the blur did not have the best photographer at the time :P

Because the highest point of a triple-bar is way at the back of the fence, and the front is so much lower, the proper take-off point is very close to the front rails. Looking at your horse’s hind feet, I can tell, that your distance WAS TOO LONG! Fortunately, he is sooooo scopey….it didn’t bother him in the least. Most horse’s couldn’t have made it! Because of the WIDTH of a triple-bar. they require a longer release from the rider….YOU!

yeah i know i was just not used to such a big horse with my horse i would of got closer and had a better distance and i had not much release because he was heavy in front and besides it was a combination and was short for him :p but thanks so much will keep in mind if i ride him ever again :)

one of the suggestions i can make is to extend your legs a few more inches to get out of the saddle a little more. by doing that it’ll help you extend forward and aid in giving a bigger release. other than that i agree with what rob said, but you guys look like a good pair!

oh and one more thing… heel down!!

  5. mcky says:

thanks any this is not even my horse so i am more confident with my other horse and so i have a much better release and my heel is so much better but thanks for all the suggestions i hope it’ll help :) :) :)
