Sorry! I uploaded these before but it was before i got them and they had the watermarks on them, I didnt know about those not being allowed. I bought them anyway and just got them in today:)
These are from our first jumper show in August, they’re 3′. Please judge both of us! I did notice I have this half auto release going on here where I’ve got one hand grabbing mane and the other in the auto release…interesting, not sure why it happened like that:P
Thanks!

Since you bought them already….no problem. Your horse is a good jumper. Never once dropped a leg out of place. You use a following release….that’s OK. However, in some of these photos, it looks like you were almost still sitting in the back of your saddle. For hunters, equitation or jumpers, the correct body position would be for you to move your body a little more forward, so that your hips are over the tops of your stirrups. I would say you were a little “behind the motion” in mid air.
Remember in an “out of hand release”, following or automatic release your elbow should still be away from the hip. It is important to keep a short enough rein length so that you can keep a straight line to the mouth and have your hand reach just about the center of your horse’s neck.
It looks like your horse enjoys the auto release your should practice doing it with both hands!
i agree you need to stretch up and get your hips over your heel. You look like you normally brace your leg forward and chuck your butt to the back of the saddle. Stay centered over your leg and just let your horse’s jump close your hip angle
Thanks for sharing. Please only post one photo at a time in the future.
