    He is beautiful!
The thing that kept erking me in the video was all the super tight spots you put him in.
I know, i know the tighter spot is the ideal spot for the oxers and for larger heights..but i felt you were pulling him away from better distances. It seems 5 or 6 strides out all id see you do was pull for that tight distance. You would kind of take everything away from him and he’d be left at the base kind of stuck.
He is probably a horse with a big, lofty stride and he may get strong a few stride out so i can understand why you don’t want him getting too big, but don’t be afraid to let him flow a little!
    you guys will be great!

I don’t agree that your spots were too tight. To the first jump you could have changed your track to close the distance. I would have waited to the outside just a bit longer and then really make him shape up that track in the line. That would have schooled him up so you didn’t get fighting so much to the next jump. You found the waiting distance in to the outside line which was absolutely the right choice considering you had a combination coming up. He jumped up nicely for you there and even if he had a rail there that would have been a nice lesson for him. He wanted to bulge right through the next set of jumps. That’s tricky because with so many related distances and a green horse you don’t have time to really fix everything but for next time be a little more cautious about supporting with that outside leg to direct him and help hold him in. He was a little impressed with that fan jump at the end so good on you to leg him through that. He’s green and you can fix everything at home…in the show ring he needs to learn he goes out and gets his feet out of the way which was exactly what he gave you. Be a little more conscious of track and support with outside leg but over all really nice. I liked that when you asked for something he believed you and kept going–that’s a smart greenie.

Yes, this is an accomplished rider working with a young horse in the huuuuuge Olympic Showjumping stadium at Olympic Horse park in Conyers , Ga, where the 1996 Olympics Equestrian events were held. I am sure she will look forward to hearing what our large R rated USEF Judges and have to say :)
