Hello everyone, this is my entry for the JWI contest! They asked for a little about my horse and myself so here goes.
My name is Casey Spragens, and I am 13 years old. I’ve been riding my whole life but have only been seriously riding and paying attention for a little over a year now and been really jumping for a year. Everyone has their bad falls but I had mine at 8 and 10 and was a little terrified of jumping up until last year when I got my two horses, Visa and Rush. (I just realized I have now owned them for 1 year and 1 month! Time has flown by!) They have both greatly improved my riding and my confidence and taught me so much.
This is Rush (AKA Gold Rush), a 14.1hh Haflinger pony that was given to me last September when he wouldn’t sell. When I got him I was told that he would probably be a children’s short stirrup pony and that he would never jump above 3′ again. We have coursed 3’9″ multiple times and are consistent at 3’6″. So much for not being able to do it
He is an amazing pony, but has his quirks. But that’s what makes him so special isn’t it? I was also told that he was purchased off an Amish farm in New York and brought to Nevada where he started his new life
3’6″ in March
3’9″ in December
3’9″ in February

thanks so much for entering Casey! Love the story of the adorable Amish pony
Wow! That pony has great form! So much for short stirrup!
You and your pony are such a wonderful team! Yall fit so well together!
Thanks everyone!
