    I’m not sure I understand this swedish oxer. Looks like you were junmping it backwards….the # 5 is on the back of the fence? if this were an XC fence jumping or landing downhill, I would understand your defensive position in the air. But, this is just a regular oxer. I used to be a pretty good Grand Prix jumper rider, and over regular fences, I NEVER sat back in the saddle like this. No jumper rider does. You need to get your body more forward & out over the horse’s neck some. Your elbows shouldn’t still be over the front edge of your saddle…..that’s too far back. Shift your hips forward until they are over the top of your stirrups. I think the photo was taken a moment late. Your horse had alread completely unfolded his front legs.

    I think this was from the “Take Your Own Line” Course… all jumps were set to jump either way, at least according to the officials. Was this at Pony Club Championships West? We’re you #171? aha I was on the Mid Cal team.
