Hi guys, i am hoping to attend some horse shows after august 5th! Does anyone know of any good shows to go to. I show around 2′-2’6″. I show hunter and i am have a pony. I am open to any types of shows from schooling to the A circuit. I would prefer lower level rated shows. If anyone has shows that they know in or around MA. That would be great! Thanks

You can look online because there are tons of places that do shows! For starters, some of the shows we go to are at Fieldstone (http://showfieldstone.com/ ), Grazing fields (http://grazingfields.com/), sandy point (http://www.sandypointstables.com/main.html), claddagh (http://www.claddaghfarm.com/index.html), phoenix rising (http://www.prhf.com/index.shtml) and then there are schooling shows at my own barn too that we do. I would just look around online and even ask your trainer/barn owner because they may see flyers or talk to people about fun places to show.
Your right rein had a “twist” in it. When you turn, you don’t need to “drop your inside hand”. Your position is good….now…drive your heels DOWN!!
I went out to one of the Central Mass show series in Spencer (Camp Marshal) and it was really nice, they have 2′ and 2’3″ hunter, eq and jumper classes and is really well run. not a ton of people but the 2’3″ classes had some decent competition and the jumps were nice. they have another show 8/26 heres the website:

they usually finish up pretty early too
Thanks that looks like fun!
It sort of depends on what you are looking for in a show series. I found that the Camp marshall shows were mainly 4H kids, and while some were good riders, none really stood out. I would suggest that if you are looking for something rated (A, B, or C) google mass horsemens council and look at the list of events under member’s info. They have things like finals and such that you can also compete in! Among some of the best local schooling shows (say you are bringing out a greenie or want a small one to start off at) are the Saddle Rowe, Cape cod hunter, August Farm, and Yankee Clipper Series. However, i think Yankee clipper has stopped for this year.
If you decide you are really into showing and are being successful, you may want to check out the A circuit. However, you always have to remember that the A circuit is where a lot of the “rich girls” ride and there is some stiff competition with the fancy equines.
Good luck in your adventures! Shoot me an email at go4theblue@rocketmail.com if you have questions about a specific show, I’ve shown a lot so I will prob know the series or have some advice on where to go
