Leg position?

I just started jumping again and I’ve been having a lot of leg issues..I’m fine keeping my legs in place on the flat and I’ve done lots of no stirrup work, but I can’t seem to keep my legs from slipping back over fences..My horse tends to jump with a lot of power (too much most of the time) and I can barely grip enough to stay on. I never had any leg problems on my old jumper (I showed her 1.05m) but now I can’t seem to get over a 2’9″ fence without problems..any advice? Thanks!

do you use tall boots or half chaps? Those help but when I go over fences I focus on pushing my feet forward, that normally helps me with my leg

I have tall boots and I usually oil them and my saddle to help me grip better(x

  3. Ride in two point at the trot and canter in order to strengthen your base of support. Try sticky stuff on your boots too!

I agree. Also, make sure that your stirrups are a good length and that you aren’t overclosing your hip angle. This will then make a bit of a see-saw effect with your upper body going forward and leg (if you don’t have much support/muscle or your heels down) go way back.
