Mylo & I

Hi everyone! This is Mylo and I in a lesson earlier this summer! I didn’t realize I had this picture! This is the out of a short 4 stride we had set up. I think I could be off his neck a little more, but I really like this picture still (: He is a 6 year old, 17hh, oldenburg x tb gelding. This is 3’6. We typically compete in the 3′-3’6 hunters/eq on our local circuit and occasionally the A/AA’s.

Your horse has left the ground unevenly behind and from a very long distance causing him to jump “at” the jump instead of rocking up and over it. Your horse is using his knees well. Your position looks good. I think you are up from his neck enough and your release is good. If you look forward and higher with your eye, it will raise your chin and straighten your back a little more. This is a small detail to fix. Nice job.

Thanks Sharon! I totally agree about being long. It had ridden super short the first time so I really settled this time not knowing my trainer then opened the line up a little.
