I haven’t been to Pebble in about 15 yrs! I always loved it up there…..so beautiful along the Monterey coast. One of the most beautiful places on God’s green earth….particularly in the summer.
This is really a nice photo. Your horse wanted to stretch his head forward…..just a bit more…help him out there. Your leg & heel are terrific. (Yes, I can see just enough through the wings) He was very good with his knees. (Obviously!) He was a little down with his toes….no big deal.
Your stirrups were a hole too long. Look and see that your knee was slightly behind the knee-roll. Long stirrups also tend to send the rider’s seat slightly backwards during their breakover, which is what I think happend to you. I say that, because, I think you released your hands & arms forward enough…but your elbows were still over the front edge of your saddle. That’s a “dead giveaway” that you shifted your seat & body backwards in mid air.
